Because of our dedication to compassionate care and client education, our staff is an integral part of your pet's health care team. These are some of our team members who may be caring for you and your pet when you visit our office.
Client Communications Team
Heather has been working at the clinic since 1996 in many different roles and has a beautiful daughter. Her family also includes a rat terrier named Georgie. Kristen joined our staff in 2005 and also has a wonderful daughter, her pets include an adopted Labrador Retriever, a Bulldog mix, and two cats.
Veterinary Technicians
Our hardworking team of veterinary technicians is headed up by Colleen. She has been with the practice since 1993 and also helps with inventory and management duties. She enjoys riding dressage in her time off and hiking with her Great Dane. Emily joined us in 2004, she has a small herd of cats at home, a Flemish Giant rabbit, and a beautiful Morgan mare. Liz, who works part time, has three beautiful girls at home, Alicia, Abigail and Anna and is learning sign language. She recently welcomed her fourth child into the family, welcome Joshua! Our newest technician, Lexie joined us in 2008 and has been a great addition to the team and has a strong background in equine reproduction and loves draft horses.
Veterinary Assistants
Our veterinary assistants are helping in patient exams, providing care for in hospital patients and keeping the clinic looking great! Bonnie has been with us forever (since 1988) and lives on a small local dairy farm. She also takes care of our beautiful flower gardens at the clinic and is an avid gardener. We also have another Liz on staff, who has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and an adopted cat. She enjoys dog training and studying animal behavior. Katy joined us in 2007 and has an active 2 year old boy at home who keeps her busy and two handsome felines who accompany her on hikes in the woods near her home.
Business Office
Gail is our Office Manager, she joined the practice in 1973 along with her husband, Dr. Ron Veenema. Outside the clinic she joins her husband on humanitarian trips to Haiti and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. Laura, our Financial Manager, joined us in 2005. She works part time, and when she's not here, is busy tending to the small farm she shares with her husband. They raise both Boer & Kiko goats, Berkshire hogs, as well as both meat and laying chickens. She also enjoys trail riding on her Missouri Foxtrotters with her friends.
