Our team of veterinarians has not changed since 2004, but you may not know some of these interesting facts about our veterinary staff.

Dr. Ron Veenema (on the right) has been with the practice since 1973, his favorite place to be when he is not seeing patients is the surgical suite. He enjoys orthopedic surgeries and frequently repairs torn cranial cruciate ligaments (ACL) in our canine patients. Dr. Veenema has also recently returned from his second mission trip to Haiti where he provided much needed services to the local community. He also finds time to serve as the secretary / treasurer of the Vermont Veterinary Medical Association ( VVMA) and chairs their budget commitee.
Dr. Ron Svec has been with the practice since 1983 and is an active member of the community and has been busy coaching both girls soccer and basketball. Dr. Svec also works as a staff veterinarian for the Iditarod and is a member of the Vermont State Veterinary Board.

Dr. Ted Johnson, who joined the practice in 1990, does the majority of our equine work. He enjoys lameness and pre-purchase exams and also performing surgeries such as castrations, wound repair and even eye enucleations. In his time away from the office he likes woodworking, hiking and kayaking. In the winter he also enjoys telemark skiing and is a member of the Ski Patrol at Magic Mountain.
Dr. Jerilyn Jacobs has been with us since 1994 and lives on a small farm in Vermont. She enjoys both small animal and equine medicine. She is a member of the Eastern Mountain Ranch Horse Association and enjoys ranch versatility and team penning with her Quarter Horse. She is also a trustee of the Veterinary Scholarship Trust of New England (VSTONE). Recently Dr. Jacobs was inducted to the Stoneleigh-Burnham Wall of Fame.

Dr. Tammy McNamara joined the practice in 2004 and enjoys equine and small animal medicine and surgery. She also is a member of the VVMA Animal Welfare Committee and volunteers at area spay / neuter clinics. She shares her home with a variety of pets, including three horses and enjoys trail riding and gardening in her spare time.
